Hello,
i am running Shop&Buy template on this server:

PHP Built On Linux n1nlhg114.shr.prod.ams1.secureserver.net 2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.nfsfixes.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Sep 4 14:07:10 MST 2013 x86_64
Database Version 5.5.33-log
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.3.24
Web Server Apache
WebServer to PHP Interface cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version Joomla! 2.5.19 Stable [ Ember ] 6-March-2014 14:30 GMT
Joomla! Platform Version Joomla Platform 11.4.0 Stable [ Brian Kernighan ] 03-Jan-2012 00:00 GMT
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_2) AppleWebKit/537.75.14 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.3 Safari/537.75.14

I have updated both the template and the VM component to 2.26 (i think), the latest version.
My issue are:

1) the site doesn't send out emails when for example i go to "forgot username" when i push submit i get redirected to the "account details" with no email send out

2) in the articles at the backend the WYSIWYG editor Tiny does not work and i always see the code version of the article.

Hope you can help with this.

Regards,
Petros K.

1) - you need to check configuration of joomla mail - perhaps there is no php mail function available on you server and you need to configure smtp.
2) - please check if on global configuration editor is set to tinyMCE.

Hello,
thanks for your relpy.

1) i have set up the email in the server to smtp with my gmail account details and still no emails go out
2) when i set tinyMCE editor as default editor in global config i get the html code in the articles (both k2 and default joomla) instead of the editors options

Have you started with quickstart or normal Joomla installation?
Does both problems exist also on default Beeze template?

Hello, i used a quick start package for the installation.

i resolved i editor issue with JCE editor, after i installed it this one works.

the email issue thought is bigger than this. i can't get any emails from the site after user registration or username reminder request nor after a purchase from the shop. This seems not to be working in the default templates as well.

Than it looks like you have to look closer into mail configuration of Joomla. If your server doesn't support php mail function, you need to use some 3rd party smtp server - and it requires configuration. After correctly setting up smtp server, login and password, all should work fine.
