'500 XML FILE DID NOT LOAD' error on product pages

Just updated from VM 2.6 - 3.0.10, and installed latest Shop and buy template. Category pages all good, however upon clicking on a product, it gives me a '500 XML FILE DID NOT LOAD' page. Tried default template and same prob, so it must be a VM issue. Hoping someone will have some ideas I could try.
