When I click the login button I get the signup box but the join us now button does not go anywhere. How do I configure this?

I don't see login button anywhere on your site. Could you provide more specific url?

On the Top Menu next to Blog.
Then the Jomsocial Login screen comes up with a Join Us Now button that does not go to a Register page.

It looks like a little bug.
Please edit file:
/templates/gk_musicstate/html/com_community/frontpage.guests.php
find line:

Code: Select all: <a href="#"> <?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_JOIN_US_NOW'); ?> </a>

and change it to:

Code: Select all: <a href="<?php echo CRoute::_( 'index.php?option=com_community&view=register' , false ); ?>"> <?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_JOIN_US_NOW'); ?> </a>

We will fix it with next template release.
