Thickbox actually used?

I have some problems with the Thickbox.js and Thickbox.css in connection with redirects. When WPML redirects, Thickbox is not found.
I just tried disabling Thickbox and don't notice any change on the Website. Is it actually used in this Theme? If yes, for what?

It's only a feature, you can use it, but if you don't need you can just disable this option.
