How to add gallery template to post

You can add a gallery to a page by changing the Template in the Page Attributes Area to "Page Template".

How can I do this in a normal Post? By inserting the shortcode [gallery] in the post I get only a standard WP gallery, But I would like to have the same design and navigation.

Unfortunately it's not possible, this gallery can be used only on pages (Gallery template page).

It's a pity. You have the template ready and the ability to call it at the needed place (on pages). Would it be very difficult to create a shortcode to place your gallery with your design anywhere in the site?

It would be great to have this feature for a continous site design.
