Do you install clean (new) site or over existing one?

Those 3 files are not meant to be uploaded. Only one is a stanrart template file, but as a beginning user this would be the worst way to get the site running.
Instead you need to take quickstart package and unzip it on your local machine, upload it to your hotsing company server (unzipped, via ftp) to correct folder (if you don't know which, ask your hosting company support for help), then you need to create empty database (again hosting company will help you on that), and install joomla from the beginning. After installation you should have working copy of our demo site.
