Error 1064 when setting Virtuemart Categories as data source

Hi,

I've installed the theme with the quickstart package. After that, I've installed Virtuemart, and everything seemed to be fine, since I selected as data source the option "Virtuemart categories" in the News Show Pro GK5 module in the mainbody position for the homepage.

As a result I have now in the frontend a 1064 error page with the following error message:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 18 SQL=SELECT DISTINCT c.virtuemart_category_id AS CID FROM ou6pr_virtuemart_product_categories AS cx LEFT JOIN ou6pr_virtuemart_categories_it_it AS c ON cx.virtuemart_category_id = c.virtuemart_category_id LEFT JOIN ou6pr_virtuemart_products_it_it AS content ON cx.virtuemart_product_id = content.virtuemart_product_id LEFT JOIN ou6pr_virtuemart_categories AS cat ON c.virtuemart_category_id = cat.virtuemart_category_id WHERE ( )


Do you have any suggestion for how to solve this problem? It is important to me to set the virtuemart categories as data source for that module.

Are you sure this category is populated with articles?
You might also try to check folders permission:

You might also try to update the module to newest version.

Hi,
yes, category is populated with articles and furthermore, permissions are allready set correctly.
Do you have a documentation on how to update News Show Pro?
By the way, it really looks like VM3 is not compatible with this theme, I think this is the real problem.
Will you release a compatible version soon?

Oh, I have forgot to check that this thread is about VM in J3.x - currently there is no VM support in our plugins and templates. NSP is currently rewritten to support vm, and we will prepare update for eCommerce templates to support VM but it requires some time.

First eCommerce templates should be available early/mid January. From what I know StoreFront and Shop&Buy will be released first, then inStyle and StoreBox will be prepared.

Currently StoreFront, Shop&Buy,inStyle and StoreBox are already compatible with J3.x and VM3.x

If you search this forum for "1064" error you will find out that in 90% of cases this is an issue with wrongly NSP data source configuration. Perhaps articles are in the category but other settings makes no article match the criteria. Then this error will show.
