VirtueMart Shop Tab not saving or closing

Hi guys, whenever I go to the shop panel on the left I cannot save or save and close in Joomla 3.

Every other tab on the left works (configuration etc) it's just the shop one, where I can set default currency and change logo, don't seem to respond at all.
I have no warnings and have installed all additional components.

Hi,
that's why most webmasters hate VM3, one day is okay and second all break down.
Sorry but we:
1) Didn't touch VM3 core files.
2) Are not VM developers, I suggest to reinstall component maybe? it will help.

Maybe also, you forgot to fill one field marked (*) in VM settings, this soft is very sensitive.

What field needs filling in that perhaps has broken it? Otherwise I will reinstall module and hope that works

Try to reinstall whole VM3 component, take it from project website.
you have problem with component now module I guess.

Thanks Oscar I did already try installing the 3 recommended components. Will try again :/ I've noticed other things such as after selecting country I can't select a region/province which is a required field at checkout.... I think your joke is way too accurate ey?

I did try reinstalling the VM 3.09 com package again to no avail, not sure if even if this is fixed I will ever be able to complete the site to a working standard for my client :/ The first and only message I get when trying to save is "vmError: Save failed with the following error: Username in use."...

Do you personally have any alternative to VM that are free that you use?

For example HikaShop and no problems...
use free Starter version for the start.
Later when your client will say if request more features you upgrade to Pro versions.

No problems if not, if so I'll PM you.

The thing is, I've already put a few days work in am doing this job cheapily so re-doing an entire template just to get a working shop (not even shop, ONE set of buttons in one extension) and finish will basically mean I lose money :/

We are not magician we cannot fix external extensions like VM3.
I agree that sometimes starting from zero is too hard, so maybe finish on vm and run away as far you can. good advice.

Doing restore to sample data and restarting from there manged to fix, thanks for all your help Oscar hope this can help someone else.

Hopefully it helped but what it would be if you already added 50-100-150 products... not nice perspective to install sample demo data.
