How to get an email from the template?

Hi,
Sorry, I may missed something, but I have no idea how to make the following modules work:
Sign up for a newsletter - JOIN (when I click on the JOIN button, nothing happens)
Ask a question about this product (this brings up a pop-up window, I can enter the message, and send it, but have no idea where it sends it - if send it at all anywhere.)
Can you please explain to me what settings are missing, or how these features should really work?

When I tried to enter a test purchase into the shopping cart, I've also did not received anything from the system.

1) sign up - you have to publish a real newsletter module there, if there is a dummy code.

2) This is VM settings, we just use VM3 in our template, but we cannot delivery support & info how to use this e-commerce software, check on their site.
