I've changed things that were on the menu that came with inStyle, but somehow I can't get rid of some remnants of the original demo site which are still visible in my URL paths. For example, I have this URL:

http://bevaradesign.com/index.php/speci ... collection

There's lots of stuff in that path that are not relevant to our store. "special-sizes", "banner", "women-s-brands", "petite".

I have been unable to figure out where these extra items in the path come from. In the example above I am linking directly to a virtuemart category. The non-relevant terms are not found in the menu or in the virtuemart category. I don't know where else to look.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Joomla 3.x., InStyle template 3.17, VirtueMart 3

Hi

A path informations are stored in database by joomla and can only be removed from there directly. In some cases elements left in trash can be showing their aliases in url, so if You are sure You will not need it. Remove it from trash too.

Try also create new links and not use the old ones. This would be a workaround for the details left in database.

This answer did not help at all. If the path information is in the database, tell me where and I'll edit it. (I don't believe you, so prove me wrong.)

To reiterate, I have a menu item linking to a Virtuemart category. None of the path information being shown in the URL is in the menu configuration or the virtuemart configuration. The path is being manipulated via some other mechanism.

Hi

The path parts has to be taken from aliases. Aliases are created for menu items, categories, articles, etc but sometimes even after removing an element with such alias it does not disappear from database. Just to clear my answer.

Try make a dump of Your database and look for aliases still showing in it. When You will find them You will see what table they are stored in and if such row has been.

If there is a system to create the path other way than with joomla default JPath or JRedirect than I'm not aware of and You should ask about that on Virtuemart forum.
