New top module position

We would like a top module that is full screen width just under the inStyle navigation bar and above all other module positions. The position needs to be full screen to allow content to span the entire page width with no side padding or margins.

We created a module position already but it doesn't show the content properly.

When adding the module position we tried with 'gkStyle'

Can you please outline the steps necessary to customize this theme?
