I'd like to move the login button but keep the popup functionality. Reason for this is because it's going to re-direct to a calendar only used for employees. I want the button to be inconspicuous.

Hi,
in theory it should be possible.
1) Edit this file : templates/gk_game\layouts\default.php
2) Find
Code: Select all
 <?php if($this->API->get('login_url', '') != '') : ?>
             <a href="<?php echo $this->API->get('login_url', 'index.php?option=com_users&view=login'); ?>" id="gkLogin"><?php echo ($userID == 0) ? JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_LOGIN') : JText::_('TPL_GK_LANG_LOGOUT'); ?></a>
             <?php endif; ?>

and cut & paste somewhere at end of sourcecode.

p.s.
Are you really sure it's good place for pop-up login ?
Maybe simple horizontal [user name...] [password] [login] module would be better

Normally, i'd say no way to the button down there. This site is going to have an internal calendar for employees but we need the button to be somewhere out of the way since the website will have hundreds if not more hits a day (their FB has 233K fans, but their main FB page has 8M, so during the spring season we may see a ton of users on the site) I don't want the button up top.

I am going to change the language so the button reads "calendar"- when you click on it, the window pops up and prompts login (i am going to strip the popup of all content besides the UN and PW fields and the submit button). Then the user will be re-directed to the page with the calendar component

You're the boss on your website playground.
If the project is also available on public - you can add it here: https://www.gavick.com/forums/member-sites.html

with short description.

I have a FOUR Gavick sites I am launching in the next month. This site is for an Major League Baseball spring training and headquarters site.

Two other sites are both on Storefront and for musicians, one of which is a repeat client of mine that currently has a site on MusicCity.

One site is on MusicState and it's for a city-wide arts organization.

One site is on Shop & Buy and it's for a salon.

I did just launch a 1-Pager on BlueApp for a music festival. I wasn't going to add it with the member sites. It is for the same client that that got me featured in "Best of the Week #8) it's not anything special though, i tossed this together in a couple of hours http://riverrocktampa.com/.

Yeah, I'm pretty well versed with the Gavick Templates. haha.
