highlights positon

I have installed an Sakic's article text scroller and published it to the highlights position. It scrolls but it seems to put a double space where a <br/> or return is used in the article. If I publish the mod to banner_left the scroll works fine with no double space. Where is the styling located so I can publish it to the highlights position and get rid of the double space?
