Hika vs VM?

HI there,

I see there is a choice for Hikashop now for this template, which is a great template I must add :)

I have never used Hika before and I find VM to be a bit of a pain but ok when you set it up. Does anyone recommend Hika over VM or should I stick to VM on this template?

I find VM custom fields and wanting to place things at places, both a bit of a pain. Can get confusing.

Hello,

In my opinion hikashop is easier to manage but the best solution would be installing both components (hikashop starter is free) and then you will see which component will better fit your needs.

Thanks for the reply Robert.

I am finding that Hika is more flexible and can do things that VM can either not do or a pain to set up to do. Like options and dropboxes can change images on the fly depending on what options you choose. This was either something I couldnt work out to do (well I havent started Hika yet so maybe I might not be able to do it) but have found out its possible to do.

Its just the templating of Hika I am struggling with to get my head around so far. I am a lot more adversed into the VM structure of templating than Hika at this point of time. It seems to be too basic that its not straight fwd if that makes sense.
