Update 3.21: gkCartCounter doesn't work

I just updated to Joomla 3.6 and Storefront 3.21 (by overwriting the changed files). Now the Cart Counter doesn't work and always shows "loading".

How to solve this?

Please make sure that you have refreshed your browser cache after the update as the scripts has been changed in the last update regarding this issue on Joomla! 3.6

I'm having the same issue. Clearing the cache did not work for me. Are there other things I can do to resolve?
