I need to use standard "search" component with StoreFront

I would like to use standard "search" joomla component with my joomla 3.6.2 running with StoreFront template.

I have verified that I have components and plugins enable, but I can not see the administrator component; the frontend works; you may check at:

http://www.condon.sex/index.php?option=com_search

But I have no access to backend; I am using in other project your GK_Quark template and there everything is working fine; I have access to frontend and backend.

I attach 2 screen shots, one from my GK_Storefront project with NO access to search backend component; and one screenshot of my GK_Quark project with FULL access to search backend component.

I would appreciate it if you may help to find out how to enable backend access to standard "search" joomla component.

I've just checked our installation of gk_storefront and can see Search component in dropdown list. I'm afraid this may be a problem with menu table in database. When it happens to me I recreate missing records directly in database manager.

Try asking Joomla support, maybe they have a less invasive solution to do it.

Thank you for your support; I have modified my database table and now I can see the component; so backend is ok now for me.

But now I have the problem with front end; the search icon at top of template has the following id "gkSearchBtn"; this shows the module of type "VirtueMart Search Product" at position "search" of the template, but I would need to substitute that; I just want the icon to link to "/index.php?option=com_search" so it shows standard joomla search interface.

May you help me to find out what file to modify.

Hi

Storefront is an e-commerce template, so VM search is published in "search" module position as default. To switch it to regular joomla search simply unpublish VM search module from "search" module position and publish regular Search module in its place.
