short browser bar link

hello,

how can I get a short link in the browser bar
e.g.
so it should look
http://www.svenmann.de/icemenu

so it looks
http://www.svenmann.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=116&catid=38&Itemid=640
the link does not lead to the intended page but loads the main page new

on the example page it looks like
http://demo.gavick.com/joomla25/steakhouse/index.php/menu

Hi

In global joomla configuration set sef to yes and mod rewrite to yes as well. Make sure htaccess.txt is renamed to .htaccess

now I've changed everything
the URL is the same and the front page shows a 404 error
nothing needs to be changed in the settings in articles?
