Have you disabled any of the modules? Your current site doesn't look like on the screenshot.

hi again,
as far as I know I did not disable any.
I uploaded the quickstart version and add 2 languages dutch and german.

May be I changed default language to english at the moment you visted the site;-(

My idea is it has something to do with language setting or the menu settings ?
Cause if you use this url it shows the present situation:

http://hochzeitautomieten.claire-fisher.net/index.php/de

The problem is may be quite simple to solve as I just need to know how and/or where to upload or change css for my own bg image instead of the just brown bg.

Hi,

background is defined in the template.css located in /templates/gk_steackhouse/css. See line 203.

Best,
Dirk

problem solved - but don't ask me why it worked out now?
I changed the name of header_bg.jpg into header_bg2.jpg and ftp css as well as the image.

And now it works,
tks anyway for help

Could also be a browser caching issue. Pressing "F5" helps.

The best way to be sure a solution is working is to check it in incognito / private browser mode (they are available in chrome / firefox). Sometimes browser caches css files and even if you have changed them browser loads cached one.

I thought I had it but at a second quickstart installation I get the same problem?

I tried again to change the bg image: bg_header.jpg (even with bg_header2.jpg other no's like on my first installation)
and I checked ( if header_b2: changed) the template.css and load it to the css folder.
Then I load up my 2 experimental background images into the template's image folder.

Tried both variations and can see the .template.css at the right place
tried F5 and incognito windo

what is wrong

what is wrong ?

Hummm...
again a'miracle' happened as I got my background set.
BUT: I still do not understand what was the problem? Is there anyone who can explain this to me??

I assume the problem appears only with a multi lingual site, but I am not sure.
As I have installed german and dutch and choose for german as default content language.

Here is what I did:
First I re- installed a native quickstart version
second i load up my own bg image files
Then I changed language for the default links in left menu.
And then I set Main Manu left home as default

Since then my bg image showed up.
May be THIS was the solution and hope this may be helpful for other starters too.

Perhaps you are having issues with server side cache? It is the only thing that comes to my mind.
