How to add icons (pics) to button

I was wondering if you know how to add an icon (or an image) to a button?
It should be visible before the text.
I guess it is a custom CSS code.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Please tell me the url to the page where I'll be able to see an example of such button. There are many types and not every type supports icons.
