How to display the contact image on 'About' article

On the live demo page, in the centre of the 'About' article, there is a user image with a link to the Contact page. Where is it picking up this image from? I am trying to insert my own image but can't locate where it comes from.

Thanks!

Hello,

This image comes from the Gravatar service and is connected with the user e-mail.

Thanks, that's now working. Looks good in Firefox browser but not so good in Safari... the image appears square instead of round.

Which version of Safari are you using? I'm using 7.1 and the avatar is rounded properly.

@tino - you can try to put an user avatar in K2 user manager - it should override the Gravatar one.

Hi.
Unfortunately it does not work through K2 user manager.

Is there any other way to easily change this picture, without being related to gravatar?
For example through the user control panel of each registered user?

Are you sure? I've especially checked our demo and as I see I've set in the user manager different avatar when e-mail is not connected with any avatar. Even if I change user e-mail to e-mail connected with existing Gravatar the K2 user image still overrides it.

I've just rechecked and yes, the user avatar remains the same (default gravatar logo) although the user avatar is different in the K2 user manager.

Please make sure that:

1) You have cleared your browser cache
2) You have cleared the joomla cache
3) You are viewing the K2 item, not com_content items.

I've checked our code for getting the avatar and all looks like in the K2 core code.

Please try to rename catalog html/com_k2 to html/__com_k2 and then please check if the avatar is still wrong. If not - then it must be a K2 issue.

No, you have to rename html/com_k2 directory - it inside the template directory and contains overrides for the original K2 views. You have in fact removed access to K2 for Joomla now - that's why you have a white page - please revert your changes.

Hi.
I've gave it a try my self and there is no change.

However, I've to note that when hitting login (login module), where the login page has a similar setup with the about page, there is no such issue and the gravatar is not shown.

And the original avatar from the user profile is displayed? Could you send me a screenshots of the pages which do you mean?

Here is your requested screenshot:

However, after checking it thoroughly, the avatar showing in the login page, is just the author avatar of the login item/article and not each connected user's avatar. Sorry for the confusion that may have been created.

As the issue remains, would you like to check it by your self using credentials that I could send you via pm?

Your issue is caused by fact that the mentioned article was created in com_content not in K2 - K2 avatars are not working inside the joomla com_content articles. com_content retrieves avatars only from the Gravatar service.

So, the solution is to create a new article inside the k2 (with the same content of your demo About-Us article of Photo template) and then assign this new k2 article to the About item of the joomla Menu items.

Finally! :)
It is OK now.
Thank you.
