Login page do not work!

Hello to all.
I am using quark on my site. I have not used the quickstart as I do not need all the features. I have made a clean joomla installation and used only the temlate and I applied all the settings I could find to the template's guide. I am using the login link to my menu but it doesn't work. When I click on the menu item it takes me to the frontpage again. Is there something that I haven't done to the settings. Is there something custom on the login page?

I found the error and the problem is solved.

For your info I had assigned the module which was in the "mainbody position" to all the menu items including the login. When I assigned it only to the homepage everything worked fine
