I've been a member since 2013 and used free gavick templates even before that. This is the very first problem I couldn't solve myself with information from the forums, documentation and How-Tos.

Dead Login with facebook button. I've followed the advice from similar questions in the forum all to no avail. I'd love it if someone could help me out.

Here's what I've done on the installation:
1. Added the app code to the Social API section of the template
2. Enabled Facebook login toggle
3. Enable Facebook Authentication Plugin
4. Entered App ID and Secret in Plugin

Here's what I've done on Facebook:
1. entered display name
2. entered app domain name (without http)
3. entered contact email
4. entered site domain with http://
5. Made the app public.

Please see attached screenshots for Facebook Api settings.

I've read all the similar forums and I can't find a solution that works. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Hi

Please make Your site visible to public so I'll be able to check this issue.

Code: Select all
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Please also try to to install newest version of the facebook authentication plugin which You will find in rest_files package.

My apologies, the domain name I have this installed on is timocoyle.com. I have installed the newest version of the auth plugin from the rest_files package yet the difficulty remains

Hi

I can see an error message in console while trying to log with facebook:

Application configuration does not allow the use of the URL .: At least one of the following URLs are unlawful application settings. The address must match the URL of a site or page canvas or domain must be a subdomain of one of the application domains.

this error is generated by file: https://www.facebook.com/connect/ping so I really think it's a problem with configuration in facebook app settings directly. Please read the error and check the URL given there.

Teitbite, you are awesome for helping with this.
I, however, am a fool. You found the problem. On the facebook app I had the domain name listed with a "www" when in should have simply had the domain name. Problem solved and many many thanks to you.
