As I could not get any statement on some topics here yet, I tried over the weekend to find some workarounds. Maybe those workarounds are interesting for others too, so I post them here:

This one is about a bug I found in the menu structure of at least 3 CK templates I tried (Corporate2, bikeshop and postnote).

The effect was, that the main menu did not work for child entries and those pages just showed a kind of copy of the parent page combined with a 404 message (File not found), while they worked fine as soon as I moved them up to top level.

Source of this was, if the parent and child page both are based on "single article". As soon as I changed the parent page to any other menu item, then the child page worked fine again.

So, changing the parent to e.g. category blog (which only has one article then) solved that issue - until Gavick will fix this bug.

Hi

Hi hi :) That makes more sense now. Anyway I do not have such problem on my local copy, so will need guidelines how to reproduce this issue.

Hi, Teibite,

I have a bit of communication on this topic already with Don. Please look here:

https://www.gavick.com/forums/corporate ... 18013.html

My real problem you can see on my side http://www.mayflower-concepts.com after registration. I will send you log-in data by PM.

If you read my last post on the thread above, you will be able to understand the issue I hope. Just try it in the admin area.

I have found my workaround, but having a solution would be better.

Another issue, which I simply wanted to report to you guys (it does not effect me) comes most probably from the same source:
As I guessed that my problem with GK menu (oh, I now learned to write it correctly  )comes from running GK template ona preinstalled site - some conflict with other code here - I installed a second instance fresh using the quick instalation files.
You find that page under umbau.mayflower-concepts.com, same log-in.

No menu.
The only thing I did, was deleting the content and installing the language switcher German/English.

Good luck...

Hi

I've looked at Your site's admin but I still do not understand the issue. I do not see a sumenu in Your settings. Anyway a multilanguage menu should be build a little different. Please take a look at this article https://www.gavick.com/documentation/qu ... oomla-1-7/ maby it's related with the problem.

Sorry guys, (both of you: Don and yourself),

firstly:
I misleaded you, as I was not aware that you couldn't see the parent/child page as it just existed in the German menu. So, your multiple questionmarks have been right. Gomen nasai, as Japanese people say !

Secondly found the mistake.
Thanks to your hint I checked the language settings. An the prob was, that the PARENT (top level) page was set to one language only while the CHILD (second level) was all languages.

Sorry for writing so long mails. And thanks for your support !
