duplicate template menu css

Hi There,

I am trying to create new menu in joomla 2.5 using gavicpro template. My question is how can I make the new menu to have the exact colour,font,style (hope i am right to call this css) as the current template mainmenu?

This is not so simple. Firs You will need to have the same HTML used with this new menu to be able to simply copy the style. Unfortunately this may not be possible if You have some additional functionality like javascript attached to it already.

So the only option is to create a whole style from scratch for element after element making it looks the same. Unfortunately such work is a customization request and we do not support that, so I cannot help with that.

Let me try to rephrase my request.
I have only create a new menu using joomla menu manager. I just want this new menu to look / feel exactly like the template main menu. Is there a way I can add some code to override.css to have this new menu to use the same style as mainmenu? Or possible to assign suffix to the new menu? Let's call this new menu as "testmenu". I can see the main menu is named as "mainmenu".

If You are using mod_mainmenu module than template got a style prepared for it already. Unfortunately if You want to copy a style from the static element as menu on a template there is no suffix or anything else prepared. It's because main menu is a build in structure and HTML for it's construction is different that for a menu used with a module.

So basicaly. What You are trying to do is possible. You can mimic the look of main template menu, but it's not as simple as adding a suffix to module. Unfortunately it requires a manual styling of each element of this menu till it's gonna look the same.

We do not support such customizations, but if You need it badly I can work on that in my private time for some small fee.
