I installed the theme download.
JomSocial appearance has not changed...

How can I change the theme of the component...

Hi,
please check in jomoscial settings in templates if our gk_style template is set as default one.

JomSocial gk_style themes do not appear.

Did you copy gk_style theme from rest_files package to /components/com_community/templates ? If not please download rest_files package and unzip it on your local drive. Here you will find jomsocial_2.6.1_theme folder. Go there and please copy gk_style folder.

No jomsocial_2.6.1_theme downloaded files.
I have the following files in the folder
admin
config
css
fonts
html
images
js
language
layouts
lib
typography
