Login for Username to Email address

Hi Guys

Joomla 2.5.18

I want to change the login User name field so that the client can use their email instead of the user name.

There is a plugin we could use, but does not work as we are not using the standard login form, just the standard gavick form.

any help would be appreciated.

1 - update you Joomla to 2.5.19, security reasons
2- what template you are using ? Why you can use default joomla module. If our template uses "effects" for login it means that you have to customize it to work with your plugin.

I am currently using the msocial template.

I do have a plugin (but installed it on the test site.) and it does not change it to the login form.

I just needed to know what to edit in the html/mod_login override to accept email instead of user name for login. (I have not done this before)

This plugin is the easiest to use. SImply install and change the language file.

It works better than others.
