how to change the width of a module space

I have a template im using that has a header 1 and a header 2(left and right). I woiuld like to spilt the widith of header 2 in two so that i may have two modules in the header two location.

If you want to have another template position you need to modify template code by adding new position floated to right in place where is declaration for header2. To avoid problems with css styling you can set width of header2 and new element to half original value of header2 position.

where would i go to do that the xml file?
