Facebook Authenticate Plugin

Hello,

I'm using the J1.7 corporate2 template and am trying to set up the facebook login feature.

I have the FB Login option turned on and the Facebook API ID set in the template Social API settings.

The notes in the template say I also need to enable the GKFacebook Authenticate Plugin. According to the wiki article below, the plugin should have been installed automatically when the template was installed. When I browse my plugins, it is not there.

I've searched your site and I don't see anywhere to download the plugin by itself. Can you let me know where to find it?

If you use only template (not quickstart) the plugin you can find in rest_files package.

I got this plugin working a few weeks ago but it has since stopped working again. Now nothing happens when you click the facebook login button.

After reading the updated below I think it may be due to the facebook authentication protocol change mentioned in this article:

Were the older templates (corporate2) updated to reflect these new changes? They do not appear to have been updated.

I tried installing the facebook plugin (plg.authenticate.facebook) from one of the new templates (theRealDesign) but I still didn't help.

Can you let me know which corporate2 template files I need to update to get this working again?

@nbednarik : were you able to get it fixed ? i m having the same issue too.. Also i notice that , it was a feature upgrade at facebook's authentication API which leads to all this, also i notice oauth 2.0 is now implemented hence we got to get a fix for it, however i notice that the new corporate2 template supports oauth2.0 but since i hv done a lot of editing work on the existing template, i dont intend to install a fresh copy of the template again,instead i will need to know which all files i need to replace to get the facebook authentication working. please suggest if you have got it fixed. It worked fine for me until the oauth 2.0 change. I have not been able to get it to work since then. I also have a very customized version of corporate2 and don't want to completely reinstall the template. Can anyone from the gavick team let us know what files we need to change to get FB login working again?

Update: I checked the "rest_files" package this morning and it appears to have been updated around 12/31. I installed the new FB plugin. Now I am able to get the facebook login pop-up screen but when i enter my facebook login credentials and submit, the facebook pop-up closes (as if it thinks it has logged me in) but it does not actually login to joomla. I'm assuming this is because there are template files that need to be updated.

As i said in my previous post, my template is highly modified and I'd prefer not to reinstall the entire thing. Can anyone let me know which template files need to be changed to get the FB login working?

Go to Plugins/Authentication - Facebook and set Auto-register to Enabled!
