I am confused. In MyStore, for two individual contact pages, I have enabled both recaptcha and gkrecaptcha. With the keys inserted (I've tried a few, and even created a new global domain key with this domain name) , the form is not showing the Recaptcha app, only a ReCaptcha placeholder field name ( a view of the source and it is loading the gkrecaptcha code).

Only recaptcha is selectable in Global Prefs > Site (and just to be sure, User Mgr > options) but I also have Gkrecaptcha enabled too. I have tried disabling GKrecaptcha but that changes nothing.

I have used the 2.5 recaptcha on prior sites without issue, what is wrong with MyStore? I have no additional js added. What other modules does recaptcha/gkrecaptcha rely upon or is it some inbuilt conflict between mootools and jquery?

You should use you reCaptcha, our gkReCaptcha was designed for Joomla 1.6 (only) where there are not reCaptcha system in Joomla! core code.

As stated "I have tried disabling GKrecaptcha but that changes nothing."

I have it working fine on the contact form for another myStore installation however it doesn't use K2. Is there something else I have to watch out for related to K2 settings - any plugins that I need to disable? I am only trying to get the contact forms working with recaptcha, nothing else, no regitrastion forms, no comments.

reCaptcha in K2 is not a part of template but core element of K2 extension. You need to configure reCaptcha keys in K2 settings and if still have problems with this extension please ask on K2 support because we don't support 3rd party extensions. Surely somewhere in K2 documentation you will find tutorial how to configure reCaptcha.

As stated, and I'm *NOT* using recaptcha with K2 and I *DON'T* want to use K2.

What I'm asking GAVICK is whether there could be any possible conflict with myStore and the inbuilt recaptcha & K2.

I'll ask the question again:
I have setup recaptcha in myStore - it isn't working on my contact page. Why not?

It is working on register page ? Please switch template for 'beez' to check results, if it is still not working this is definitely not template issue.

Ok, have some time to revisit this frustrating issue.

I am running J2.5.8, using myStore template (which I've had all sorts of grief with in a number of ways), using the inbuilt Joomla recaptcha module. I do not have GKrecaptcha enabled.

I switched to another template (atomic) and the recaptcha works fine for the very same contact page. I switch back and to myStore template and all I see is the Captcha heading an a * (no recaptcha images or box to type in).

I now have another installation of myStore and I have got the default Joomla captcha on that with no issues. The only difference is K2 - there seems to be some conflict.

The default Joomla! reCaptcha doesn't work with K2, K2 extension use own reCaptcha system. Did you configure keyss in K2 settings ?
