Hi,

I have to congragulate you on the best template so far ... This rocks ...

I have a problem though ... I want to disable the Main Menu (top right) altogether. I have tried everything in the back end. I dont know where else to go .. Since its not even a normal module position, I cannot delete it or disable it ... Please help ... So it is the menu just below Register, Login & Search. I do not even want the trace of it anywhere ...

Basically I do not want that menu at the top at all, I will only use the other one at the bottom ... So if you can guide me how to delete or disable it using the T3 Framework, I will be happy as well ...

Screenshot is attached.

Rgds,

you need to have atleast one menu point somewhere on the site for the default menu (home)

but even thou making a list menu somewhere else on the site, i give you right. it is not easy to remove the menu...

I apologise for this, but I do not understand your reply. Are you saying it is not posible to remove that menu position altogether? Please anyone else with a solution ... I can hard code if I have to, just point me in the right direction ...

Thanks in advance ...

Hi

Please try with adding this at the end of template.css file:

Code: Select all
#gk-nav {
display:none;
}

just make sure you read up on the effect display: none; can have on SEO.

But if you have a main menu in another position I don't believe it effects anything

Correct me if I'm wrong here

Hi

You're right :) In such case please unpublish this menu in the panel. The solution is for the mainmenu at Gavick templates where menu is a part of the template and cannot be removed throught the panel (except removing or rename it completly).

NB : I use now "mystore" template
I would like to hide main menu on frontpage
then assign one different menu to the two main sections of the website (module published at the "menu" position of the template)
Is it more accurate ?

Hi

Yes thats accurate enought but I'm not sure if it's possible to be done, but my first (and this far only idea) is to create 3 templates and use for frontpage, one menu and the second menu.

OR (I just felt smarter)

You can replace the standard menu code with a new position and than place a module there with menu and attache to wanted pages only :)

From the administration panel, Extensions -> Module Manager. Here Disable the Main Menu.

Thanks.

I want to use the mainmenu on a different place (top1) and disable it at the old position (menu).

I use a module with the mainmenu to show on top1 position - that works so far.

How can I permanently disable or remove the mainmenu from its old position?

Thanks for your help!
