Hi,

After uploading the Quickstart file for Postnote 1.7 to two different test domains, while
following the installation options on both, the Quickstart fields for ' Database Name ' are empty on both ?

Is there a new method to installing the Quickstart files for Joomla 1.7 please ?, I can only
find help documentation for Joomla 1.5 Gavick templates. Or can you tell me the ' Database ' name
for Postnote 1.7 ?.

Some advise on this would be great.

Thanks,

Niall Kelly

Hi

The rules are exacly the same. Most probably You have a problems with permissions on the server so please try fill configuration.php file manualy. Also I've noticed that Safari browser has no this issue at all ( ???? ). All or course if it's the problem I've encountered.

Hi teitbite,

I've attached a screen image from where the error message occurs on QuickStart installation. If the ' configuration.php ' has not been created yet, how can I copy the details into a manually created ' configuration.php ' file ?

I'm using the same server I've recently installed a ' Coffe 1.6 ' template so I dont think it is a server permission issue.

Can I copy the ' configuration.php ' file details from the ' Coffee 1.6 ' template & paste them into the new postnote domain ?, or has Joomla 1.7 changed the location of the configuration file ?.

Thanks,

Niall Kelly

Hi teitbite,

If we can not solve the QuickStart demo installation issue...

I installed the Postnote 1.7 template on a different domain without using the QuickStart .zip file. Can you send me a screen image of the module positions, articles, modified CSS, etc for the Postnote demo file so I can manually re-create the look & feel of the Postnote 1.7 demo ?

Thanks,

Hi

Please don't :) It's just too much work and Quickstart works just fine. Please send me the FTP access and details to database and I'll try to install it myself and see what problem can be on Your server.

Hi

I got the FTP access, but not the access to database manager. I need to check if everything is ok there and also need something to use during installation :)

Problem Solved !!!

There is a bug with cPanel when using a Mac OSX 10.5 PPC with most browsers.
I re-created the database & user, with my Windows Server 2008 PC using Firefox,
re-loaded the installation file with the new details & quickstart demo file installed
perfect.

; ) thanks for your help with this teitbite & sorry for wasting your time on
this ! : (

Can you close this post as solved please ?,

Thanks,

Niall Kelly

Hi

I'm really sorry, because I wasn't able to make it right. I was just now get to this work (couldn't have earlier).

Anyway I was right about the issue. I'm also using Mac and need to install joomla using Safari. FF browser is not good for it. I have not checked other browsers.

Glad it's solved. Sorry I couldn't be in time to help You :(
