Add extra logo OUTSIDE main frame

How do I add a extra banner on top just on the right side of the
whole "1000px wide template-area" (gk_sporter).

I have read https://www.gavick.com/documentation/joomla-extensions/how-to-add-new-module-position/ and som other threads but they are all how to add a position "inside" the main template area. I'm talking about right of the "Search"-module.

I think I can follow earlier posts to create a postion etc.. But how do I place it "outside" the normal template area without disturbing the rest of the template.

No one that can give me at least a hint. I want to add a banner outside the normal template area (standard~1000px width).

So the question is: Can I add a extra position on the right, top outer side?

I guess I can do as the "normal way" to add extra positions in a template but I want to be shure not to disturb, all the normal template functionality..

Should I use a DIV or a TABLE in the main index.php-file or any other hint? Please?
