In the download section, rest of files other than the actual template is avaiable in Joomla 1.6 (the file name: gk_blackandwhite_rest_filesJ!16.zip). Are these files also going to work for Joomla 2.5? The template is working fine for Joomla 2.5, so I assume so. But I will need to confirm this. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, this rest_files package is for Joomla 1.6+ so also for 2.5
