header.php ??? Google Analytics

Hi Guys!!

I am trying to add the ID code Google Analytics tracking in the "header.php" file ....is supposed the be the procedure that I must follow...
But in this theme file "header.php" ... is almost empty ... forgive my ignorance..... but if not there in the "header.php" file , where I can add the php code ID of the Google Analytics?

Please use John/layouts/header.php file.
