I am not really good at building up websites and I always like to load all the demo stuff and then cut what I do not really need. So I got the University theme + BuddyPress plugin as I want to run a website for Alumni.

So, here is what I did:
1. I loaded the QuickStart files - thought that would be enough - wrong!
2. I switched to the Child theme - thought that would be enough - wrong! :)

I noticed there is a CSS file in the Child theme - may be I should import it somehow? O also downloaded that json file in the header of the forum thread - should I import it to have the Demo website like at https://www.gavick.com/wordpress-themes/education ?

Here is my website: http://cc-ellensburg. org

Hello,

For now you've only install a theme files so you need to configure all widgets and import the settings.
Please check the documentation, the installaiton is described step by step:
https://www.gavick.com/documentation/th ... y/install/

Important tip: You can't install the quickstart package on existing wordpress instance (in your Dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes section)

Right - so before I copied the Quick Install I removed all the files (yes, I did install a copy of WordPress previously) except the configuration one (so the SQL database was used the old one - no pages added though).

I have all the plugin in place - have a look: http://i.imgur.com/qWAbst3.png

Question now - how do I import the setting file? Or would it be easier for me to remove all the files form the server - deleted the SQL database and start all over?

It's your choice but if I were you I would install the quickstart package. (remove the database and files first).
After installation I would have the demo website out of the box and there's no need to configure all widgets manually.

Regarding the setting file, it's described here:
https://www.gavick.com/documentation/wo ... e-settings
The file with the settings (json) may be found here:

The JSON file doesn't include any content, it's only a file with theme settings like fonts, sidebar width and other options stored in University -> Template Options.

If you can't install the quickstart you have to configure all widgets manually. Please follow the installation guide:
https://www.gavick.com/documentation/th ... y/install/
and Frontpage widgets section.

It's a lot of configuration so I've recommended you to install the quickstart.

So I went on and removed the old SQL database AFTER I installed the Quick Launch package.. and still nothing. Even with the new SQL database it does not work... and before that I tried to import JSON file - did not work either... I just do not understand:
Random theme files are in the place: http://i.imgur.com/HksJtuZ.png
All plugins activated: http://i.imgur.com/zErmLZq.png

If there is an e-mail I can send the login info so that you could check what is wrong with it - would certainly appreciate

Hi,

JSON file and other staff are not needed if you are using the quickstart. Did you install it using this tutorial?
https://www.gavick.com/documentation/wo ... stallation

You can send me a PM (click the “Private Message” text underneath my avatar) with your website backend access.
