Hi,
We have been using Quark for a while, but we would now like to implement the eCommerce of Quark.
I switched to ecommerce in the template basic settings
But somehow I do not seem to be able to get this right.
The cart is missing in the menu, and Virtuemart does not look like the eCommerce GavickPro example site.
Anything that I am missing?
Your help is appreciated!

BTW I also tried selecting both the default template in Virtuemart and the Quark template, without any luck.

After some trying I have the cart in the menu, my mistake, virtuecart module in cart position...
But cart does not have the Quark look, neither does Virtuemart..

Most of the site is OK now, except for the layout in Virtuemart, which seems a combination of Quark template and Virtuemart..
Any help is appreciated.

Hi

Please send me an access to joomla panel. I'll look where VM layouts are and how to activate it.

Hi

I've just checked and I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. For template to be a regular or ecommerce style files has to be created from less. This means that it can only work in a single style. You will have to change a name for the template and install another quark template, so You will be able to prepare style files for both this styles at the same time. Here is an instruction how to install a template with a different name: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... ate-folder

Hey Teitbite,
thanks for taking the time of checking and for pointing me in the right direction.
I was hoping I could simply switch the template between standard and eCommerce version, but apparently that is not quite the case?
If I understand it correctly I will have to rename the template (and details in XML file etc) and install as new template and then load this in VM as template in stead of the default VM template?
Kind regards,
Ben

just installed another version of the gk_quark under the name of gk-ecommerce.
but still no joy!
In VM I selected the gk_ecommerce as template, but still not quite the way it should look..
Anything that I am missing?
Thanks, Ben

Hi

There is no need to change template in Virtuemart. In fact having it use default it best option. Template will just use our css style if the copy of the template was set to e-commerce and LESS was extracted (You need to select to reload LESS in advanced settings, can be disabled after seeing good result).

Still most important is that this template is attached to the pages You wish to have this style used.

Hi Teitbite,
I installed another Quark template under the name of ecommerce and tried to use that in VM, but no luck. What I want to achieve is use the frontpage in regular Quark style and only the VM part in Quark eCommerce.
I already changed the CSS files to look like the eCommerce style, only the add to cart popup looks like the VM fancybox instead of the facebox.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi

I visited Your site and template was installed correctly, but it was not attached to shop pages. I also had to enable fancybox in VM configuration. Now everything looks ok I think.

Hey Teitbite,
sorry was off-line for a few days..
Had to change things due to the fact that the front-page was not responsive. Now I think I have messed up your changes, don't see the correct add to cart popup.
If possible could you let me in what I did wrong for the popup?
many thanks,
Ben

Hi Teitbite,

like you say it looks OK.
But not the way it is supposed to look with the Quark eCommerce installed....
The add to cart popup is more or less the VM popup but not the Quark popup.
Please explain how to get that functioning properly or what I do wrong.
Thanks in advance for the help,

Ben

Hi

Unfortunately one of the last VM updates has blocked facebox to the part with popup was changed. Demo is still using older VM version. Not much we can do about it, sorry. That's what programmers told me.

Hi

That's the problem. The HTML is so light with this new popup that there is no even place for look modifications.

Here some css selectors to make changes to buttons colors at least:

Code: Select all
#fancybox-content .continue_link {
    background: #b2b2b2 none repeat scroll 0 0;
}

#fancybox-content .showcart {
    background: #c00 none repeat scroll 0 0;
}

#fancybox-content .showcart:hover {
    background: #e00 none repeat scroll 0 0;
}
