Important: If know/remember which files you have modified in your customization before you start updating make a backup of all the customized template files, so you can recover it and redo all changes at any time. In most cases it would be template images (like logo) and override.css file.

Once you have your Joomla template downloaded on your computer, login to the administrative area of your Joomla website and upload the template through the Extension Manager (Extensions -> Extension Manager).

When you upgrade any Gavick product, you don’t have to uninstall the old one! Just install the new product over existing by standard installation method through Joomla installer. If you uninstall a product, you irrevocably delete all the records from the database and the product (template or module) settings.

The last step for those who made customization

After installation you can replace files or part of code from “new” template version with from “old” template files. Please note, that if you have heavily modified your template’s layout (php files) or few css we recommend to compare what has changed between file versions, and then merging those changes.

Done. Your new template version should look as before and work even better.
