hello all!
i have an ugly situation. my boss wants me to put three links on the header, like image maps or some other way.
i have a horizontal header logo in one image that is made like this:
university_logo - faculty_logo - school_name - school_logo
normally everything together links to school home page.
boss wants to link university to university, faculty to faculty and rest to school.

aditional problem is that site is bilingual and the logos are language dependant.

is this possible?

Hi,
for me no problemo amigo.
1) If you want to use only one module in this position -- use Custom HTML and add there 4 images inline (float:left) and links them to subpages
2) If you want some hardcore - use GK Grid and publish 4 modules inside one Gk Grid

Of course there few others ideas... but it's toooo late for me... Time to bed.

Ooo, Croatia - nice country I was there two times.

I have for you another very easy solution, GK Grid would be in this case too hard.

wait... a moment

It is possible to make one image link to several pages, depending on where the image is clicked. This "old" technique is called imagemapping.

1) Use one of those tools:
http://www.image-maps.com/
http://www.maschek.hu/imagemap/imgmap
Upload image and simply specify which areas of the image should link to where.

2) Then insert whole code inside Custom HTML module

your boss would be happy.

Ok, thank you for this. Now I have to put this custom HTML module in logo position and remove logo from that place. I suppose that was allready published in the forum, but the search engine is giving me very bad results. If you are in the mood, can you please explain that here?

But where is the problem? You have to add new module with this code and remember that link to image must be good.
p.s.
But if you want extra help send me PM - will think about good deal for both of us.

I see... I don't know that this whole image is your logo. when I know this is a little bit harder.
If you could send me URL - this should help me.
Right now I can offer you two solutions:

1) You use another position for this object and code
and we will hide logo position

2) You can add your generated code inside layout/default.php file in template folder.

3) Beer sounds good for me... but I 'd prefer ice creams

URL is in your PM, because it is closed site, not in production yet.

I prefer solution no 2. But you will see that it is bilingual. Logo is changing with language.

I started from update your Joomla from 2.5.16 to 2.5.18 - you slept last two months, hmm ?
Now I'm checking logo task....
1) Code which you had in "LOGO-EN" in module was broken
you have to add but disable TinyMCE or JCE -- use "no editor" or "codemirror" mode !!

2) I created new module on "highlighter' position for English language - insert there generated code again
Do this same for HR language.
logo-module.png

3) Remember that source of image must be from your server not from image-maps.com

That's all tips for now.

I added your code into "Active Logo EN" module, now is working fine.
Do this same for HR language.

p.s.
Are you sure that light pink is good color for background? :P

Thanks, I'll look thru this tomorrow. No, I was not sleeping, they are going to route site to another url when it will be ready. I planned updates after that. But no matter, we tested routing with some other site and everything is ok.

Thanks for this, but remember: you don't go to Croatia for ice cream. You go to Croatia for best italian food... :)

Don't worry... I see. It was because header was so big that he was like a layer which hide login button.
I suggest use this code:
Code: Select all
#gkButtons { z-index: 999; }
