500 Internal Server Error when selecting K2 or Joomla Articles

running Joomla 1.7 and the latest template updates and K2 download
whenever i select an joomla article or K2 anywhere i get the error below. It worked just fine earlier today. I uploaded a clean php5.ini file, i am on godaddy and that is running PHP5.2. Not sure what the problem is but need K2 articles to work.

Try below taken from joomla.org
- Code: Select all
Turn all the SEF options off.
Very important!!! GoDaddy does not process the .htaccess immediately.
Delete the existing .htaccess from the server.
Use the htaccess.txt file delivered with Joomla.
Edit the file as such:
Add the following lines at the top of the htaccess file:
AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
AddHandler x-httpd-php .php4
uncomment the “RewriteBase /” line in the .htaccess file( remove the #)

that is one of many k2 links that bomb, it must be a plugin or something, any help is much appreciated
