Virtue Mart products Module doesnt display items as directed

Hi,
this is the issue: Virtue Mart Products wont display more than one items per row - though modul position to display more is right. What i typed in (backend): items to display: 3 / items per row: 3. it wont work.
Hope you guys know a trick to solve this problem?
