Style not applied

Hello there!
I just installed the quickstart package (literally an hour ago!) and all works OK (for the moment) except for the style.
When you go to the Calendar menu (originally Schedule on the template) you can see that the font style hasn't been applied - ie the links are blue colour.
If you scroll to the bottom and click the style switchers first orange button THEN the style is applied. Ie the links now have a white background box and are large/orange coloured.
How do I make it so that the 1st style is applied without having to first click that orange style switcher button?
I've already tried all the combinations in the template options.

Oh...I found the problem. I didn't select "Use Typography"
