Background Image: Width? Settings?

I followed instructions here and have a wildly distorted background image:

How wide should I make the background image?

Will also set the background image to "fixed" so it does not move.

Hi, with my screen, your homepage's dimensions are 1265x3620. It's not a good idea to put that such a large image to the site because the site will load very slowly. You'd better use a pattern background image and make it repeat/loop.
