Hi,

I want to customize the title for the tag archive page and the category archive page. How do I do that?

Cheers,
SK

Hi,

"Customize" means changing text to other phrases? or change the appearance of these titles?
Could you provide more details?

I mean changing the text in the title. Now, if i go to the tag archive page (www.domain.com/tag/xyz/) the title is "xyz-archive". Since this is the title that shows up in Google, I want to change this into something a bit more "selling"... The same goes for the category archive page, which now has the title "categoryX-archive".

Sorry if I was unclear. :-)

These phrases i.e. "Tag Archives:" may be translated (try to use LocoTranslate or PoEdit).

I'm not sure that solves my problem. I've managed to translate all the headlines that's visible on the webpage, like "Tag Archives" etc. But I can't find out how to change the appearance of the <title>. Let's say I have a tag called "tag5". Then the title will be "tag5-archive" witout spaces or anything. It's this title I want to change to something like "Pages about tag5".

Could you provide an URL to your website? By default your tag page should be displayed like here:
"tag5 - Your website title"

You can also install 3rd party plugin like Yoast SEO to improve these tags.

Here are URL's to a tag archive page and a category archive page.

http://www.kebbon.com/tag/mosaikimitation/
http://www.kebbon.com/category/dekorationsmaleri/

As you can see, the website title is displayed in the end, but it's the title before that I want to change. Actually, I already have installed Yoast SEO, but I'm not sure how to use it to change these titles.

So, there's your website title after the separator - it's correct.

Please check your Yoast SEO plugin tutorial or ask plugin support:

Yeah, the title in the end is correct. It's the beginning of the title I want to change. But I'll have a look at the Yoast tutorial then.

Thanks,
