Hacked?

Hi, I used this theme on a project and everything was fine.
Around 2 weeks ago all the text widgets had been deleted ...automatically?!...I had reset every thing and today again all the text widgets have been deleted...
All the remaining settings seem to be working and funtional, is there a possibility that the theme has something to fix? or the website has been hacked? in this case what could I check?

Try to use i.e. this plugin to scan your WordPress:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/exploit-scanner/

Do you have the latest version of WordPress and the News2 theme? Try to deactivate 3rd party plugins and then check.
