I can't find the option logo type (image, text, css) in the features tab of the template settings in (updated) gk_photo, so i can't set "from css"

Its just a simplified interface. If you upload a image ,then image type is used, if there is no logo image, text based is used.

It will not work this way. The only way is to hardcode this option into template core php files and use css to display svg with png fallback.

@cyberek
Can you help me please?
In my opinion it is basic to include an svg-file as logo.

Well, I can request our dev team to implement it but it will take a while.
If you want to do it by yourself - I can help but just as a guide and problem solver, providing this customisation as a 100% solution is beyond our technical support.

I don't see this issue as a customisation. Setting up a svg-file as logo should be a basic functionality like in other gavick-templates. Can't understand why this isn't added to this template.
I'm very disappointed about the missing support and see the endeavor to boost your customisation-branch.
Take a lesson from yootheme!

Photo is pretty old template and at that time there was no svg logo support. And that is basically it. If you wish to have something in a template which basically is not there - this is a customisation.

That's simply not true. Per Example "Steak House" and "InStyle" are older templates than "Photo" WITH the function "Logo type from css". You just deleted this function in photo.

This is your position, unfortunately. I understand.

Perhaps this was a designer/developer decision, anyhow I cannot do much more about that.
