product image size in category view

Hi,
in virtuemart category view I'd like to have prodcut images all of the same size. I set image resize oprtion in virtuemart template configuration, but images are of different size:

You must provide images of same aspect ratio (width to height ratio) in first place.
Here is how resize work:
1. You set 200x200px limit
2. You provide 2 images: a) 400x200px (landscape) and b) 200x400px (portrait)
3. To fit first image in 200x200px it is resized to 200x100px (still landscape), to fit second image it is resized to 100x200px (portrait).

This is how VM resizes the images. Perhaps there is a plugin/hack to force crop method of images, but you would have no control over what is cropped.
