Hikashop and Display Views

Hi Guys,

I installed your quick start template with hikashop as well.
In Hikkashop under System/Configuration/ Default Parameters for Products/Layout on product page
I set this to default so that I can update the show_default product view (so that I can move description to Right hand side of page)

I also check to see that when I add a product Layout on product page is set to default.

But it appears that your template for some reason uses show_tabular.php continuously.

Can you please help and explain, as support at Hikkashop says that this is an issue with the template, or there is some over ride that i do not know about

Hi

Yes this is overriden, since a support to hikashop involves creating a separate style to fit template and some options hot disabled. You can use a default template after renaming /html/com_hikashop/ to /html/_com_hikashop/

Hi I wanted to add, it is not Hikashop that I wanted to disable, I just wanted to be able to use the other views available, but like i said it appears that only Tabular works.

can you please exaplain what I need to do, or what has been done so that I can understand

Hi

If You will change the folder name You may have some styles missing. But renaming is more of a test becuase this will disable template overrides enabling full component functionality which may have been altered to better fit layout. If You will see other layouts works after renaming it means that template override it if not than it will means that a reason must be in configuration or component itself.

Hi there, I made
/public_html/components/com_hikashop to /public_html/components/_com_hikashop

It now will not load any products which makes sense since this com does not exist now.

My question is what do I need to do, do I need to install the original COM so I can play around with the original views or can you tell me what you changed in your version so I can move this forward?

Here is what I want to achieve a view that looks like this

So you can see that the description will be to the right when we click to view the product

Hi

No no. I didn't mean to rename component, just template overrides to it. You will find com_hikashop in template's /html folder. Try to rename this one to be able to use component functionality only.

Tell me the url to example page. So I'll try to figure out the code to make it close to Your image.

A small missunderstanding. I need to know the url to the page where hikashop is not styled the way as on the link mentioned. Please let me know so I'll see what code can be added there.
