Frontpage layout + slider

Hello.

I have used the "University" for an nice site.
But my client is not pleased with the silder, the loadingtime is to long.
I disabled lots of modules on the frontpage, and even used transparent png images as images.
But the loading time stays the same.
He wants the silder gone, but how? The fontpage looks bad if I disable the slider.
I read a lot of post about the silder, but none of the answer will work.
In the menulink "HOME" there is no page-suffics.
Can anyone create light in the darkness?

You can replace slider by publishing a different one in the same module position.

Load time depends from site load speed. Preloader disappears after whole site is loaded, not only slider.
