K2 Latest Items instead of Featured Articles for menu item

Hi there,
I am trying to use the "Polaroid" style but I only want it to use certain K2 categories. I looked under Layout -> Select Categories but it only lists Joomla categories. So I tried changing it to a K2 "Latest items from (one or more) users or categories" menu item instead, but now when I click on an article to go to the full article view, it won't show it. I think maybe something with the SEF urls is a problem?
Article URL when viewing the default "Polaroid" menu item: http://www.domain.com/component/k2/item ... st-article
Article URL when viewing "Polaroid" menu item set to K2 Latest Items type: http://www.domain.com/home/polaroid/ite ... st-article
Can anyone help me get this working?

Yes that's what I did, but now none of my articles are clickable. When I click on the article title, it just loads the same layout instead of displaying the full article.

This is a problem with menu structure and lack of landing pages for articles. Please read this article to learn how to solve it: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/qu ... s-working/

Thanks! But how do I use Category Blog or Category List when the items are in K2? The K2 categories don't come up in the list, only the standard Joomla article categories.

Hi
Exactly like I've shown in the screenshot couple of posts before. When You will select K2 >> Categories than in tabs which will display You will be able to see an option to select which categories to use.

The first reply said to use K2-> Categories. When I do that, I can't click on any of the articles, it just reloads the page. That is the whole reason I made this post.
The second reply said to use Category Blog or Category List, which I can't do because those items don't include K2 categories.
Sorry, I don't think I understand your solutions?

Hi
Ok. I'll try to explain. This is how joomla works. Articles, K2 items, products, blog entries, ... whatever the elements You are using are they all need "a landing page" where they can be shown. Landing page is a page with type "category" with a category of the item we wish to show on another page. Depending of the type of content You are using it has to be either K2 category for K2 items, Joomla category for joomla articles, VM category for VM products, etc.
If there is no such landing page defined in menu than article will open where was clicked without checking if component area was already taken by a different content.
So in Your case You need to use K2 Categories to make landing pages for articles, but I believe You have not selected any category in it's settings. Please check that.

Yes I do have a category selected. That is the whole reason I started this, because I wanted to be able to pick a category instead of just using featured articles from all categories.

Hi
Please send me an access to Your joomla panel. I'll just check and change it by myself. Please also include a link to the page with example.

Hi
Problem was much easier that we both thought
You have published module in mainbody module position which is reserved for component, but with an option to hide component by using module in it's place. So when You have clicked an article link it was oppening correct page, but still showing module as configured.
To fix it I moved module to "bottom" module position, now You can play with K2 category settings to hide it from view or get back to previous settings and use Advanced Module Manager and select to show this module in the same place but only on category view pages, not article pages.

Thank you! I think I understand what you mean. I'll play with it and come back if I get confused.

Hi
There is couple of solutions for that, so do the easiest and leave it as I configured it and only play with this category settings not to show any category elements on this page. This will eliminate mainbody part for category view only and it will look like You had this page before.
