Migration 1.5 to 1.6 cherry design-Quick Start

I then installed from CherryDesing Quickstart for Joomla 1.5.

How do I make an update from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6 Quick Start Quick Start with all my data and pictures?

There is no way to update template from Joomla version 1.5 to 1.6 because they are build on different frameworks. You need to delete old Joomla version and install new one.

Did you install Joomla 1.6 on clean database ?

The databases were created anew. Have just created a new database again and again get the error message.
Can it be that the fault lies in the Quick Start?

I don't understand why you want to migrate CherryDesign Quickstart J!1.5 to J!1.6.
There's already a quickstart version package for J!1.6.
You can find it on our download section.

Anyway, if you want to migrate something from J!1.5 to J!1.6, there are tools available on Joomla! resources that can do the job, but be careful because some 3th party extensions used on J!1.5 quickstart still don't have J!1.6 support, like for example K2 component.

All error messages that I have so far described above, relate to the new Quick Start Package 1.6.

The fault must lie in the database of the package!

There's nothing wrong with our J!1.6 quickstart installation.
Actually, if i recall well, this is the first claim of this type.

Now, what's the PHP version provided by your host?

Joomla 1.6 will require PHP 5.2+ and MySQL 5.0.4+.

I have just been me de-DE joomla_full.1.6.3
uploaded and installed everything great and the same with the database name as in the Quick Start where it does not work.

When running applications providers follow:
PHP 5.2.17-0.dot.deb.b
SQL 5.0.51a-24 + lenny5


The mistake is to say in the Quick Start Package Joomla 1.6!

If i understood well you are making a normal Joomla!1.6 installation from German package and try on install the quickstart package... is that it?

If so, please don't.
QuickStart package means that ALL is included and naturally it includes joomla j!1.6.
Please read this article that explains how to make a quickstart installation in J!1.5.
The process to J!1.6 is the same.

I think here is a misunderstanding occurs.

I have the German Joomla version 1.6 installed only once to test if everything is running on the server of the provider as well. Yes I was able to install Joomla 1.6 without problems. Even my own provider of Joomla developers said that Joomla 1.6 correctly on the server is running.

I'm not going that quick start package to be installed on the German Joomla package. This is a misunderstanding.

I install the Quickstart package for Joomla 1.6 from scratch with a new address. Have in the past also been numerous quick start package of Joomla 1.5 installed and it worked smoothly.

i just tried to install the quickstart from this link :

and it worked perfectly right away...

It was again an error message in the user group here spent the Quick Start Package.

die probleme sind ja beim schreiben in die datenbank, so zeigt es ja die fehlermeldung. da stimmt was mit der datenbank oder dessen rechte nicht. lösche die datenbank, oder erstelle besser eine andere und versuche es erneut....

Hi, Please try to install the quick start package in English and not in German to see if it works. (i have seen this in the past)

I take it the original quick start package and that is in English.

As has been said before in a new database may be not. To test, I've been playing once Joomla 1.6 and the installation worked.

In the original installation package is available in the user tables in the database any problems.

Yes i have read both threads, what i am saying is that during the installation, use English and not German, i have seen the same problem again.

Maybe it has to do with server specific setup.

I tried all three possibilities of the English versions. In all attempts I get the error message in the user table.

Anyway i'm still say this is a problem with joomla!1.6 and your sql version.
I will try make some changes on sql dump file and attach here for you to test.

ok we found the problem.
Actually we already found this problem some time ago and made changes on all quickstart package... except this one
At present version, it's built with MySQL 5.1 syntax and 5.0 doesn't accept it.
So we need to change MySQL syntax to MySQL 5.0 and it will work in MySQL 5.1

Please wait for soon update.
